Wrong Car Parking is a menace in today’s scenario around the world especially in India. 21 year old Nikhil Sharma an Animation & Multimedia student at Chandigarh University has come with the solution in the form of a Mobile app (WCarPs) which can help the user of the struck vehicle to get in touch with the driver of the wrongly parked vehicle through sms, call or e-mail by punching in the vehicle registration number in the app.
The mobile app was today launched at the varsity campus by Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University in the presence of students and faculty. While highlighting the main features of the app, Nikhil said “I have myself got stuck in a scenario where I had to wait for 3 hours for the driver of the wrongly parked vehicle at various locations in Chandigarh Tri-City and it was during one of such situations 9 months back the idea to develop a mobile app for resolving such problems crossed my mind which led to the initiation to develop “WCarPs” application”.
The mobile app will work on all android based smart phones and can be downloaded free of cost from the Play Store. Developed on android platform, WCarPs works on community application basis where registered users will be able to use features such as Theft Alerts by sending the alert notification of the stolen vehicle to all the fellow WCarPs users who can assist in tracking the stolen vehicle. The App also comes with a feature to track stolen vehicle through chassis number of the vehicle in case if the thieves have replaced the original number plate with a fake one.
