“Failure should not damper the spirit of youth, rather it should be considered as opportunity to succeed in life” said Karan Bajwa, Managing Director, IBM. While delivering his convocation address on the occasion of 4th Annual Convocation ceremony for Engineering students of Chandigarh University, Karan said, “Young professionals should learn the professional way of handling tough situations in professional & personal life with courage and zeal to find smart solutions”.

While interacting with the students, Karan Bajwa called upon the young engineers to keep pace with the evolving technology in the industry and advised them to constantly up-grade their professional skills. He further added that, “Universities and academic institutions can add technical and professional skills to the students but the budding professionals gain experience once they face real time situations”. While giving the success mantra to the young graduates of the university, IBM Managing Director said, “Striving for Hard work, Creative Thinking and Following Ethics & Values in your life are the three important ingredients that can lead to success both in professional & personal arena”.

IBM Managing Director along with University Vice-Chancellor, conferred degrees to 1500 engineering students of 2017 batch, that included 400 ME (Masters of Engineering) & 1100 BE (Bachelors of Engineering) students. The 4th annual convocation ceremony also saw awarding of Ph.D. (Doctorate of Philosophy) to 9 students who completed their Ph.D. degrees in different areas of Engineering. Moreover 18 University academic toppers were honored with Gold Medals by the chief guest during the ceremony.
