Teaching and Ideology given by the Indian Revolutionary Legend still hold significance in modern era
“The teachings and ideologies given by Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh is still relevant for India and society at large” said Satwinder Singh a 1st year student of Engineering while participating in a debate competition held at Chandigarh University to mark the 109th Birth Anniversary of the legend who lightened the spirit of freedom struggle in India. Students of Chandigarh University were joined by noted Punjabi Singers who performed live on the occasion of Birth Anniversary celebration of the legend at university campus.
Musical Marathon which included Master Salim, Gajendra Phogat, Amrit Mann, Raj Brar, Satwinder Bagga, Masha Ali and Balkar Siddhu enthralled the audience with their musical performances. The live performance by musical band ‘Virat’ mesmerized the audience as they filled the air with patriotic tunes. Youth talent performed traditional folk dances of various states of India which showcased cultural diversity of our country yet presenting a true picture of integrated India which was a dream of Bhagat Singh.
Students pledged to practice the teachings of Bhagat Singh which advocated for social and economic development for all sections of society. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University said, “The true meaning of ideology given by Bhagat Singh is to empower common man so that everyone should enjoy freedom in true sense and hence participate in nation’s development”.
