CU student bags All India best girl Cadet Accolade

Hard work and dedication was the key to my success: Muskaan


“Nothing is impossible to achieve if one’s will power is strong and the commitment towards success is unquestionable” said a proud looking Cadet Captain Muskaan Boparai, a Civil Engineering student at Chandigarh University after being honoured with best cadet award in the All India Nausainik camp held at INS Kadamba in Karwar, Karnataka.  A member of NCC unit at Chandigarh University which is affiliated 2 Pb. NU NCC Amritsar; Muskaan went through four directorate level Naval Training camps held in Ropar before being conferred with the coveted credit.

“There are about 20 thousand girls Navy cadets across the 17 directorates and 29 states in India out of which 12 were selected after the camp” she said. Passionate to serve the country by putting in her best possible efforts she started working hard towards attaining her goal at the age of 15. “Coming to Chandigarh University instilled a new confidence in me and I got more focused towards my goal with the support of NCC unit here” she further added.

The road to success is never easy and so was the case with Muskaan. She went through various challenging obstacles in the Naval training camp like Semaphore, Physical Tests, Health and Hygiene tests , Personal Interview , Written exams  and more than 11 such assessments which tested her physical , mental , emotional and Psychological ability before garnering her to the helm.  “One has to be more than singularly skilled these days otherwise there are very less chances of their commissioning into the armed forces” exclaimed a jubilant Cadet Muskaan.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the largest Naval Base in Eastern Hemisphere, INS Kadamba at Karwar where Rear Admiral KJ Kumar VSM Flag Officer Karwar and Brigadier DM Purvimath VSM Deputy Director General NCC were present as the guest of honour. “Getting medal for the best girl cadet from such highly decorated officers of Indian Navy was a dream come true for me and I would cherish this moment for a long period of time” Muskaan stated.

“Everyone should work hard towards achieving their goal and should not be disheartened by the failures that come along. We should never stop trying as dedication and commitment towards our objective will surely lead us to success” Muskaan happily quantified.
