National Level Innovative Business Idea Competition “EFFECTUS” concludes at Chandigarh University

“Getting medical facilities would be just a click away in Chandigarh tri-city with the launch of 91HealthCap which is an on-line and mobile application based solution for offering connectivity to leading hospitals, pathological laboratories and ordering medicines” said Bikramjeet Singh, a B.Tech (Hons) Computer Science Engineering student who won the Best Innovative Business Idea Award during National Level Innovative Business Idea Competition “EFFECTUS-2016” organized by Chandigarh University. The young and budding entrepreneur from Mohali, Bikramjeet won cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lacs. With more than 600 students from various Universities and Institutions participated during the 2-day National Level Competition “EFFECTUS-2016”, the event received more than 100 business ideas presented by the participants.

Explaining the working of 91HealthCap application, Bikramjeet Singh said, “The mobile app of 91HealthCap is already available for download for the residents of tri-city where they can book a prior appointment with the Doctors and Doctors also stand to benefit from the application as they would be able to maintain records of their patients along with their prescription on-line”. For ordering the medicines, the user just needs to upload the doctor prescription and the medicines would be made available right at your doorstep within 3 hours that too at discounted prices, said Bikramjeet. He further added that, “The idea to make 91healthcap came to my mind when I was asked by a pharmacist in Mohali that a particular medicine would be available at a shop in Chandigarh only”.

The 2nd prize was won by Team- Tring Tring which is a tele-caller tune based idea to highlight sale offers in your city. Abhinav Tanvar, Rajni and Neha Panchaal are all 3rd year Bio-Technology students from Chandigarh University who presented a business idea to replace the normal mobile phone ringtone with sale offers from brands which are available in your city. The team was awarded Rs. 75,000 cash prize.

Team Gearr Customs (Golden Eye Automotive Research in Relaxer Bi-Cycles) which proposed a Bi-Cycle rental option for Home Delivery of products for the on-line shopping industry won the 3rd prize. Tirlok Singh, an Automobile Engineering students while Yogita Singh and Ankur Mehta are both MBA students presented the concept of making a Bi-cycle which is automatic and runs on battery that can be offered to Restaurants, Courier Services and On-line Shopping companies who have to deliver the products at the door steps of the customers. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University along with Mr. Vinay Singal, CEO & Founder, Wittyfeed and Mr. Digvijay, CEO & Founder, MYFISCOS gave the winner with cash prizes.

While addressing the students, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “USA economy is strong because of backing from community of entrepreneurs who have not only generated wealth for themselves but have contributed towards the economy of the country”. Most of the successful Global business ventures such as Facebook, Apple, Microsoft have been initiated by students and see how their risk taken at a time has paid off which have made them Global Market Leaders, added Sandhu.
