CU student becomes first ever U 23 Woman Wrestling World Champion from India

  Chandigarh University’s Reetika Hooda scripts history; becomes the first-ever U-23 Woman Wrestling World Champion from India   Chandigarh University (CU) student Reetika Hooda scripted history as she became the first-ever Indian Under-23 Woman Wrestling World Champion in the 6 th U-23 Wrestling World Championships held at Tirana, Albania from October 23 to 29. Overall, Reetika is the second Indian to win a Gold in the U23 Wrestling World Championships till date. She defeated USA's former U20 World Champion Kennedy Blades in 76kg category with a score of 9-2. What makes Reetika’s achievement even more special is that it was the first time she competed in the 76kg category after participating in the 72kg category for two years. Chandigarh University Celebrates World Student Day, Emphasizing the Role of Education in Nation Building

On the eve of World Student Day, which is marked on October 15 to honour  the birthday of former Indian president, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam , an event was held at CU on Saturday under theme ‘Role of Education in Nation Building’ in which students of different nations participated. CU Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu along addressed the students during the event.   While discussing on the theme, the students said that the introduction of major policy changes aimed at complete overhaul is revolutionising India's education sector. Students of Chandigarh University bring laurels for India at Asian Games 2023

Focused on encouraging the budding sports talent, a special press conference was organized by Chandigarh University (CU) on October 13 (Friday) at Chandigarh Press Club to welcome the students who added another feather to University’s crown with their remarkable performance in the recently concluded 19 th Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China. Medal winners, participants, and their families were present on the occasion, who were applauded by Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu for their extraordinary performance in this 15-day continental multi-sport event, which was organized by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) from September 23 to October 8. Academic leaders from 30 countries participate in Chandigarh University’s Global Education Summit

Focused on fostering global collaboration in higher education and achieving inclusiveness through internationalization of higher education, Chandigarh University (CU) is hosting a three-day Global Education Summit (GES-2023), which started on Monday (October 9).   The academic leaders, which includes vice-chancellors, presidents, and top officials, of more than 40 universities from across 30 countries like UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Russia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Japan, Uzbekistan etc are taking part. The Summit is being held on the theme ‘Creating Professional Leaders for ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. Chandigarh University Announces CUCET 2024-25 Scholarships

  Chandigarh University Announces CUCET 2024-25 Scholarships   Chandigarh University takes pride in unveiling the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for the academic year 2024-25. CUCET stands as a national-level entrance exam and scholarship test, setting the stage for students’ admission journey into esteemed programs including Engineering, MBA, Pharmacy, LLM, and Integrated Law courses. This initiative reinforces the university’s commitment to holistic education and empowering the youth.   Scholarship Opportunities: In the first phase of CUCET, spanning from October 2023 to May 2024, candidates scoring between 90.01 to 100 marks receive a 100% scholarship, while those securing 80 to 90 marks are entitled to a 50% scholarship. The scholarships range from 40% to 15% based on the marks obtained in CUCET. Highest number of 22 players from Chandigarh University represented India at Asian Games

 Recognising the performances of their students during the recently concluded Asian Games in China, Chandigarh University (CU), on Friday felicitated their ten medal-winning athletes, at an event held at Chandigarh University Campus. Students who won medals are -- Arshdeep Singh (gold in cricket), Bhajan Kaur (bronze in archery), Kiran Godara (bronze in wrestling), Sanjay (gold in men’s hockey), Inamdar Aslam, Mustafa, Nitesh Kumar, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Pawan Kumar (men’s kabaddi), Sushma Sharma and Nidhi Sharma (women’s kabaddi). CU chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu expressed delight and congratulated students for their achievements and for bringing laurels to the nation, their respective states, and the University as well.
