Arshan Khan of Chandigarh University was declared Mr. All India Inter-University during the of All India Inter-University Weightlifting and Best Physique Championship (Men) 2019 at the campus of Chandigarh University, Gharuan. Earlier during the day, Arshan Khan (CU) bagged gold medal in the +90 kg weight category of the Best Physique Championship while B. Ravi Kumar of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam won silver and Ananthu V.R. of Calicut University, Kerala won bronze medal. In the 90 kg weight category of the tournament, Krishna Kadam of SPPU Pune, Maharashtra won gold medal while Mohammed Araf of Kerala University, Kerala won silver and Rohit Pramod of Rani Channamma University, Karnatka won bronze medal in the Best Physique Championship.



Sanket Mahadev of Shivaji University, Kolhapur bagged the Best Lifter title during the All India Inter-University Weightlifting Championship 2019 at the campus of Chandigarh University Gharuan. Team Punjab University won the overall trophy of All India Inter-University Weightlifting Championship 2019 by winning a total of 184 points while Thiruvalluvar University, Tamil Nadu won second position by bagging 180 points and host team of Chandigarh University Gharuan came at third position by wining 177 points.

The tournament saw tough competition among the players in the 81 kg weight category. Prakash Shiva of Mangalore University, Karnataka won gold medal by lifting a total weight of 302 kg (Snatch: 134 kg and Clean & Jerk: 168 kg) while Raghveer Singh of Chandigarh University, Gharuan won silver medal by lifting a total weight of 296 kg (Snatch: 129 kg and Clean & Jerk: 167 kg) and V. Arun Pandiyan of Thiruvalluvar University, Tamil Nadu won bronze medal by lifting a total weight of 291 kg (Snatch: 131 kg and Clean & Jerk: 160 kg).    
      
In the 96 kg weight category, M. Sudhan of Manglore University, Karnataka won gold medal by lifting a total weight of 290 kg (Snatch: 130 kg and Clean & Jerk: 160 kg) while Gursajan of Chandigarh University, Gharuan won silver medal by lifting a total weight of 289 kg (Snatch: 128 kg and Clean & Jerk: 161 kg) and Jasveer Singh of Punjab University, Chandigarh won bronze medal by lifting a total weight of 288 kg (Snatch: 129 kg and Clean & Jerk: 159 kg). In the 109 kg weight category, Vardhan of Adikavi Nannaya University, Andhra Pradesh clinched gold medal by lifting a total weight of 303 kg (Snatch: 133 kg and Clean & Jerk: 170 kg) while Gurbhinder Singh of Punjab University, Chandigarh won silver medal by lifting a total weight of 300 kg (Snatch: 140 kg and Clean & Jerk: 160 kg) and Naveen of Chandigarh University, Gharuan won bronze medal by lifting a total weight of 297 kg (Snatch: 130 kg and Clean & Jerk: 167 kg).  
         
The final weight category of 109+ kg saw more than 24 players participating for the medals on the last day of the championship. Akshay Hriba Walke of Shivaji University Kolhapur won gold medal by lifting a total weight of 297 kg while Avinash of Punjab University, Chandigarh won silver medal by lifting a total weight of 292 kg and Kushal Gowda of Manglore University, Karnataka won bronze medal by lifting total weight of 290 kg.
