Chandigarh University Gharuan ranks first amongst Universities in Clean & Smart Campus Rankings by AICTE
Chandigarh University Gharuan has been ranked first amongst the Universities in the Clean & Smart Campus Rankings 2019 of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India. Dr.B.S.Sohi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University received the honor from Ramesh Polhriyal Nishank, Union Minister for Human Resource Development during 3rd Swachhta Ranking Awards held at New Delhi.

Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD) conducts the survey of Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) under “Clean & Smart Campus Rankings” every year on the basis of Cleanliness & Hygiene, Kitchen Hygiene in University Mess, Green Cover in Campus, Garbage Disposal in Hostels & Campus, Water Supply & Sewerage System. While the Smart Campus parameters which includes the usage of e-governance, IT, ICT and ITES in the academics & administration of the University Campus.
After receiving the award, Dr. Sohi said, “We are working to achieve the vision of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for a clean and smart nation”. University is running several campaigns at its campus under the Swachh Bharat Mission and has recently banned the usage of Single Use Plastic on its campus, added Pro-Vice Chancellor.
