CU shines at National B-Plan Competition 2019 at IIM Banglore

Chandigarh University B-School team wins third position at prestigious National B-Plan Competition 2019 at IIM Banglore 



Team comprising of seven young and budding entrepreneurs of Chandigarh University have won third position in the National B-Plan Competition 2019 organized by IIM Banglore. Considered to one of the most prominent and prestigious national competition for the young entrepreneurs, the event is attended by teams from renowned and elite B-Schools of the country and angel investors from India and Abroad. This year more than 35 teams took part in the annual Business Plan Competition which is part of the annual IIM Banglore’s Entrepreneurs Summit (EXIMIUS 2019). 

Team from GLS University Ahmadabad won first position while the team from RKSVV College of Agriculture Gwalior bagged second position in the National B-Plan Competition. CU team headed by Priya who is a final year MBA student of Marketing & International Business presented two business proposals which were appreciated by the panel of judges comprising of renowned business leaders and angel investors. The other team members of Chandigarh University team comprised of Haqiq Rahaman & Ahmadsliman both final MBA students from Afghanistan, Pooja a MBA (Finance) student, Vatanpreet Kaur & Ekta Bhardwaj both final year MBA (Marketing) students and Jagdish Dash a B.Com student. 

The first business proposal presented by team CU was “Night Garage” which will offer automobile servicing and repair facility for both four and two wheeler owners. While explaining the business proposal, Vatanpreet Kaur said, “Now days everyone is busy with their jobs and due to corporate lifestyle there is hardly any time left for getting their vehicles serviced or repaired as it takes whole day for the job, so we will offer our services at night where we will pick the vehicle from any location and after servicing or repairing leave the vehicle at the owners place”. Initially we will offer our services in Chandigarh tri-city and our aim is to target 500 vehicles in first six months, she added. 

While the other business plan presented by CU students was to offer Anti Insect cum Pet Tracker which offers multiple functions for the pet owners. Ahmadsliman explained, “We are offering a belt for the pets which has in-built GPS tracker mechanism along with a quality of keeping insects, bug and leek at bay that will help our pets like Dogs, Cats healthier and disease free”. The belt will cost about Rs. 3000 and would be available on leading e-commerce portals. 
Dr. Shiv Tripathi, Executive Director, University School of Business, Chandigarh University said, “All the students in the team are university toppers of their respective branches and were selected for the training at IIM Indore where the students were imparted training on Digital Marketing, HR Analytics and GST before they formulated their B-Plan to participate in the competition”. It is a matter of great pride that team from Chandigarh University which took part for the first time in the competition against the experienced teams from elite B-Schools of the country have won accolades in their first attempt only, he added.
