 Indian Ambassador to US Taranjit Singh Sandhu visits Chandigarh University, suggests to stress upon domains like space technology, IT

"Situation of US Visa delay has improved after External Affairs Minister took the issue with USA during his recent visit" said Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Indian Ambassador to US


Indian Ambassador during his visit stated they had made US Officials realized about the importance of Indian professionals visiting USA in various types of fields especially in STEM ( Science, technology, engineering and mathematics ). And even External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar had took up the issue of visa delays. Thus, more than one lac of appointments for H and L workers has been released.

The Ambassador suggested that young universities like Chandigarh University should stress upon the domains like space technology, information technology, agriculture , mathematics in which Indian had been recognized as expertise at global level. That will overall attract foreign students and faculty to visit Indian universities under the exchange programs and joint research initiatives.

 

He further said that, "Young universities like Chandigarh University should create a specialised domains such as space technology, information technology.

Further, During importance of New Education Policy the Ambassador gave suggestions for Indian campuses to set up offshore campuses for improving campus to campus relations.

On Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi , The Ambassador added that the Global image of India have been improved and many world leaders had approached to the Prime Minister for resolvance of international issues of peace and stability in the world.

 

Moreover, the Ambassador stated about India that the country have managed to become manufacturing hub especially in field of medicine and healthcare during the period of pandemic as country have supplied Covid-19 vaccination to more than 100 countries.

During the visit at Kalpana Chawla Space Research Centre, the Indian Ambassador to US interacted with students that were working on a satellite program and also interacted with young entrepreneurs of the Chandigarh University when he also visited Technology Business Incubator.

Chancellor of Chandigarh University Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu said that it is a matter pride that a Punjabi is representing India at United States as an Ambassador. Further, he added that we had interacted with Indian ambassador  about  exploring new possibilities for our students under New Education Policy that could help students for global exposure. And also apprised the US Ambassador that 30+ collaborations of Chandigarh University with the reputed US universities and colleges.
