Chandigarh University donates Rs. 1.16 Lakh on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day
Chandigarh University organized an event on 26th December, 2022 for celebrating the Armed Forces Flag Day or the Flag Day of India under the Department of Student Welfare and NSS Division to honour sacrifices of armed forces and raise donations for the welfare of the servicemen, ex-servicemen, and their families. Cdr. Retd.) The total collection of funds in 2022 was Rs. 1,16,687. Baljinder Singh Virk, Deputy Director of District Defence Services Welfare SAS Nagar Mohali, was the chief guest of the event. Arvinder Singh Kang, Executive Director Student Affairs and Support Services Chandigarh University; Wg Cdr (Dr) J S Minhas Additional Director- SWSC; and Capt. (Dr) Gurpreet Singh Associate Director IDOL were the other dignitaries present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the volunteers of NSS arranged a special event for celebrating the Armed Forces and their sacrifices, which included patriotic songs, dance, and traditional programs. At the end of the day, the university officials handed over a cheque worth R. 1.16 lakh to chief guest Cdr. Baljinder Singh Virk (Retd.) for the well-being of the staff and ex-servicemen who bravely safeguard the citizens of our country.
