Chandigarh University lifts the Overall Champions Trophy at All India Inter University Rowing Championship 2023

CU wins 50 Medals in All India Inter-University Rowing Championship held at Sukhna Lake



Chandigarh University lifted the Overall Champions Trophy at the All India Inter University Rowing Championship 2023 organized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at the Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh from 22 December to 23 December 2023. CU distinguished itself among the 30 participating universities, claiming the overall titles in both men’s and women’s categories due to the outstanding performances of its 30 participating students.

In the men's event, the rowers of Chandigarh University claimed the top position with 74 points and 28 medals, including 20 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze. Similarly, in the women’s category, CU secured 70 points to bag the overall title at the University Rowing Championship hosted by the Panjab University. The university won 22 medals in the category, which includes 15 Gold and 7 Silver. 


Notably, Chandigarh University students have been performing impeccably in various state, national, and international tournaments in the field of sports. Prior to this, Chandigarh University bagged 4 medals in Rowing in the third edition of Khelo India University Games (KIUG) inaugurated in Lucknow. The students won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals in rowing during the event.
