Chandigarh, July 30, 2024 — Chandigarh University has inaugurated the "Centre of Excellence: The Finovation Hub" on its campus, marking a significant step towards advancing financial education and innovation. The inauguration coincided with the launch of a collaborative Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Applied Finance with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), making Chandigarh University the first Indian institution to offer such a program in partnership with the global financial advisory firm.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this collaboration was signed by Chandigarh University Registrar Dr. GS Brar and Sanjeev Parkar, Senior Director HCM, PwC, at the university's campus. The ceremony was attended by key university officials, including Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh, Prof. (Dr.) Nilesh Arora, Director of the University School of Business, and Krishnan Ravindran, Director, PwC India.
The MBA in Applied Finance aims to provide students with practical financial skills and real-world business exposure. The curriculum, designed in collaboration with PwC, covers advanced topics such as Financial Modelling and Forecasting, Assurance and Auditing, Consulting and Advisory, and the evolving fields of Fintech and Analytics.
The Finovation Hub, inaugurated during the event, aims to be a world-class center of financial innovation and excellence. It will focus on developing finance and accounting skill development programs, fostering research excellence, and promoting financial inclusion and sustainable finance practices. The hub will also explore the use of digital technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, in accounting and finance.
The establishment of the Finovation Hub and the launch of the MBA in Applied Finance reflect Chandigarh University's commitment to advancing financial education and fostering a globally inclusive financial landscape.
