CU Student Arjun Babuta’s Olympic Journey; Finishes 4th in Men’s 10m Air Rifle at Paris Olympics

Paris (July 29, 2024) - In a tightly contested final of the Men's 10m Air Rifle event at the Paris Olympics 2024, Arjun Babuta finished just shy of a podium position. Despite a commendable performance throughout the competition, Babuta narrowly missed out on a medal, ultimately placing 4th. A pivotal moment in his final came with a 9.9 score on his 13th shot, which proved costly in the final tally.

Babuta's performance, while falling short of a medal, reflects the high level of competition at the Olympics and underscores the competitive spirit of Indian shooters on the global stage.


Earlier in the Games, Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh competed in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event and advanced to the bronze medal match. However, their efforts fell short of securing a medal. Meanwhile, Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema did not progress past the preliminary rounds in their respective events. In the Women's 10m Air Rifle final, Indian shooter Ramita Jindal finished in 7th place.
