Chandigarh University Student Aman Kumar Secures All India Rank 1 in Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course
A Chandigarh University’s Computer Science Engineering (CSE) student
Aman Kumar has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the 124th Course (Men) of the
NCC Special Entry Scheme, earning selection for commissioning as a Lieutenant
in the Indian Army on completion of training at the Officers Training Academy,
Chennai.
Aman Kumar, a 2026 pass-out of the NCC Army Wing of Chandigarh
University who hails from Barauni in Bihar but as lived mostly in Bareilly in
Uttar Pradesh, said, “After securing AIR 1, now I am looking forward for
fulfilling my first dream to wear the Olive Greens and serve the nation with
honour, leadership, and integrity,”.
“My father was in the Army and is currently serving at the
Ordinance Factory Dumdum, Kolkata. As I always wanted to join the Indian Army,
so I joined the Chandigarh University for B Tech so that I get multiple
opportunities to join the Army like the direct entry through the as a Short
Service Commission (SSC) NCC Special Entry Scheme. Chandigarh University helped
me in preparing for Army’s recruitment exams and interviews. Joining the NCC at
CU helped me a lot. I am very proud of my educational journey at Chandigarh
University,” said Aman who served as a Cadet Under Officer and Officiating
Cadet Sergeant Major.
Since its inception in 2013, 67 NCC Cadets of Chandigarh
University have been Commissioned as Officers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air
Force.
