24 teams from all across country participate at Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon-2022 at Chandigarh University Gharuan

10 teams from all across country emerge winner at SIH Grand Finale at Chandigarh University Gharuan nodal Centre

 

 As many as 139 participants from 24 teams from all across the country slugged it out for two straight days for glory at the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon-2022 which the Chandigarh University hosted at Gharuan campus in its capacity as one of the 75 higher educational institutes and incubators identified by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE as Smart India Hackathon nodal centers, as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The grand finale of SIH-2022 concluded at Chandigarh University’s Gharuan campus, where 10 teams were declared winners for solving 6 problem statements given by the AICTE.

At the valedictory session, Dr Ravindra Soni, Advisor All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was the chief guest, while 6 evaluation panels comprising 24 evaluators judged 139 participants from 24 teams from different parts of the country. Chandigarh University Pro-Chancellor Dr R S Bawa, Dean Academic Affairs and Nodal Center Incharge Dr B Priestly Shan, and Shri Nitin Bhide, AICTE Representative & Nodal Center Head, along with 19 mentors were also present on the occasion.

For the problem statement involving ‘AICTE Event/Activity management system’, Team Envision Alpha from SRM Institute Of Science & Technology, Chennai, and Team Elite Coders from BVB Sardar Patel Institute Of Technology Mumbai were declared joint winners, whereas Team One_Zero from PRM College Of Engineering & Management, Maharashtra and Team_404 from Mahindra University were declared joint winners for the problem statement ‘Prediction of Admission & Jobs in Engineering & Technology with respect to demographic locations’.

For the problem statement ‘To develop integrated and robust online platform for the researchers providing the information and relevant details about national/international research grants’, Team Phoenix_2 from College Of Technology And Engineering, and Team Inevitables from Rajalakshmi Institute Of Technology were declared joint winners, whereas Team Webmasters_ISM from IIT Dhanbad and Team Serious Vale Coders from G H Raisoni College Of Engineering Nagpur were declared joint winners for the problem statement ‘Attractiveness and User Friendliness of AICTE Website’.

Team Techcoders from Institute Of Technical Education & Research was declared winner for problem statement ‘Integrated annual academic calendar for all the Indian universities’, and finally Team HexaByteXX from Thakur College Of Engineering & Technology, Mumbai was declared winner for problem statement ‘Online integrated platform for projects taken up by the students of various universities/colleges’. Each of the winning teams was given a reward of Rs 1 lakh.

Organised by the Union Ministry of Education, the SIH-2022 also witnessed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, addressing the participants via video conferencing and exhorting them to focus on research and innovation.

"The future of India will be dependent on innovations and work done by the youth. Your innovative mindset will take India to the top. The aspirational society of India will act as a driving force for a new India. With new ideas, new aspirations and new resolutions we will move forward," Modi said, as he discussed with the students their product applications.
