CU and RBI Delve into Inflation, Growth, and the Future of Digital Banking

CU Campus - Chandigarh University recently collaborated with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to host a discussion titled "Currency Conversations - Exploring RBI's Role in Shaping India's Economy."  The event gathered prominent figures in economics, finance, and policy-making to examine the RBI's influence on India's economic trajectory and its efforts to stabilize financial systems amidst global uncertainties. Key topics addressed included the RBI's approach to maintaining economic stability, its strategies for managing inflation while fostering growth, and the evolving landscape of digital banking and currency management in the age of fintech innovation.  The session provided valuable insights into the future direction of India’s economic and financial policies.

CU Becomes North India's First to Launch e-Sanad Portal for Document Verification

CU Campus - Chandigarh University has become the first university in North India to launch the e-Sanad Portal, an online platform for document verification and attestation.  This digital service allows students and alumni to seamlessly verify and obtain apostille for their educational documents without the need for physical paperwork or long wait times. The initiative aims to simplify processes such as international university applications, work permits, and immigration by ensuring global credibility and swift processing of credentials. The e-Sanad Portal is part of the Indian government’s larger move towards digitization and is seen as a significant step forward in improving the efficiency and accessibility of educational documentation. New Delhi: Students from the University Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (UITHM), Chandigarh University, recently achieved success at the Millets Competition during the World Food India event, organized by the Indian Culinary Forum. CU Campus - SanDisk India Device Design Center Pvt Ltd recently visited Chandigarh University for a placement drive aimed at recruiting students for engineering roles. Architecture Students Engage in Hands-on Workshop on Urban Disaster Risk Management

Chandigarh - Seventy-one students from the University Institute of Architecture, Chandigarh University and the Chandigarh College of Architecture participated in an intensive workshop aimed at critically evaluating urban risks.  Under the subject of Disaster Risk Management, the students from 7th semester focused on assessing disaster risks associated with seven key buildings and the campus of Panjab University, located in Sector 14, Chandigarh. Led by Dr. Niyati Jigyasu, Professor at UIA, Chandigarh University, the workshop had commenced with in-depth theoretical lectures in a classroom setting, laying the foundational knowledge needed for risk analysis and mitigation techniques.  Following the on-site assessment, the final phase will consist of collaborative brainstorming sessions, where students will analyse the gathered data, engage in discussions, and develop strategic solutions, culminating in the presentation of their findings.

ECE Students Excel at IIT Guwahati’s Microfish 2024, Secure Second Position

Guwahati, Assam - A team of engineering students from Chandigarh University has secured second place at Microfish 2024, a national-level competition held as part of Techniche, IIT Guwahati’s annual technology festival. The competition attracted participation from some of the country's leading institutions, showcasing cutting-edge innovation and problem-solving skills in the field of microelectronics and robotics. The CU team, operating under the name Team N3K, comprised Tarun S (team lead), Upasana Paul, Shreya Pratihari, and Swastik Kumar—all students of the university's Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department. Innovative AI Projects Mark CSE Student’s Internship in Taiwan

Changhua City, Taiwan : Riya Singh, a B.E. CSE Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning the student from Chandigarh University recently completed an internship at National Changhua University of Education, Taiwan, under the mentorship of Professor Wen-Ren Yang from the Department of Electrical Engineering . The internship, which took place from June to September 2024, provided an opportunity to work on advanced AI projects. The student contributed to two notable research initiatives. The first project involved the development of a two-factor authentication system that combined facial and voice recognition technologies, aimed at enhancing security in biometric systems. The second project focused on sign language recognition using a transformer model with patch merging techniques, exploring methods to improve accuracy in non-verbal communication systems.
