Media Stalwarts to Converge at Chandigarh University for CommClave 2024

CU Campus - On September 20, 2024, Chandigarh University’s University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) will host UIMS-CommClave-24, a one-day event focused on the theme “Future of Media: Challenges & Opportunities.” This immersive conclave will bring together industry leaders, media experts, and students to engage in thought-provoking discussions on the evolving landscape of media and communications.

The event will feature a series of expert talks, panel discussions, masterclasses, and interactive sessions, providing participants with insights into critical aspects of media, including journalism, advertising, public relations, AI in media, and OTT content.

Key highlights include:

Journalism in the Digital Age: Experts such as Himanshu Shekhar (NDTV), Sushant Sinha (Times Now), and Pallavi Ghosh (CNN News18) will discuss the impact of the digital revolution on news consumption and reporting techniques.

Advertising & Public Relations: Industry leaders like Sherina Kopany (Sun Strategic) and Neeraj Jha (Warner Bros. Discovery) will explore innovative strategies in advertising and the role of PR in today’s fast-paced digital world.

AI & New Media Technologies: Panelists, including Monika Shergill (Netflix) and Shishir Sinha (The Hindu), will dive into how AI is transforming media content creation and the ethical considerations surrounding its adoption.

OTT Content and Society: Discussions will also focus on the rise of OTT platforms and their societal impact, with insights from Neeraj Jha and Dr. Anand Pradhan (IIMC).

CU's Monica and Nirmala Bhati Shine as India Wins Inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup

New Delhi -   India etched its name in sports history by winning the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup, held from January 13 to 19, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Arena, New Delhi. In a commanding display of skill, India defeated Nepal in the finals with a remarkable score of 78-40. Among the standout performers were Monica Bhati and Nirmala Bhati, students of Chandigarh University, whose contributions were instrumental in the team’s golden success.  Adding to the glory, Monica Bhati was crowned the Best Defender of the Tournament, recognizing her unmatched defensive prowess throughout the championship.
