UIMS Announces National Photography Competition 2024

Chandigarh (August 8, 2024) -  The University Institute of Media Studies at Chandigarh University has officially announced the commencement of the National Photography Competition 2024, inviting photographers from across India to participate. Based on the theme of 'Freedom,' this competition aims to provide a platform for talented photographers to showcase their creativity and skills in a competitive environment.

Registration Details

Participants need to complete their registration by 6:00 PM on August 15, 2024, using a designated Google form. A registration fee of ₹100 applies. It's crucial to submit entries on time, as late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Submission Guidelines

Photographers must submit their entries in both RAW and JPEG formats, with a maximum file size of 100 MB. The competition requires that images be original, unedited, and not previously awarded in any other competition. Photos can be taken with either a DSLR or a mobile phone. All entries must be submitted online, along with a screenshot of the registration form and fee details. Submissions should be emailed to uimsphotocontest@gmail.com, clearly stating "Chandigarh University National Photography Competition" and the theme in the subject line.


Rules & Regulations

The competition has specific rules that must be adhered to. Photo editing or manipulation is strictly prohibited, and entries should not contain any identifying personal information. Participants must ensure they have all necessary permissions for any subjects, costumes, or props used in their photographs. Chandigarh University reserves the right to use submitted entries for branding purposes and may disqualify any entry without explanation if needed.


Judging Process

The judging process will be thorough and impartial. Entries will be anonymized with code numbers to ensure unbiased evaluation. In the first round, the top 50 images will be selected. The second round will narrow it down to the top 25 images. In the final round, judges will interact with the top 25 participants to assess their creativity and the quality of their photographs, ultimately determining the winners.


Participant Responsibilities

Participants must agree to fully indemnify Chandigarh University against any royalties or fees due to third-party claims. The university will not be held responsible for any technical issues affecting the submission or judging process. Submissions must not contain any infringing content and should comply with all copyright and privacy laws.
