Chandigarh - On September 2nd, students from the University Institute of Media Studies at Chandigarh University attended the live proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. This visit coincided with the 7th session of the 14th Assembly.  During their visit, the students had the opportunity to observe the live Question Hour and various debates, providing them with a firsthand look at the legislative process. The visit was organized by CU's University Institute of Media Studies, aiming to offer students practical insights into how laws are discussed and enacted.  Professor Rajesh Sisodia, Director of Media Studies, emphasized that this experience would significantly enhance the students' understanding of the democratic process and the workings of legislative bodies.

This workshop was aimed at enhancing the skills of students enrolled in the BA-Journalism & Mass Communication and MA-Journalism & Mass Communication programs. The sessions were conducted by Senior Journalist Sanjay Kumar, who provided valuable insights into the pervasive issue of fake news on social media. The workshop focused on equipping students with the necessary tools and techniques to verify facts, enabling them to help the general public make informed decisions. Chandigarh (August 8, 2024) -   The University Institute of Media Studies at Chandigarh University has officially announced the commencement of the National Photography Competition 2024, inviting photographers from across India to participate. Based on the theme of 'Freedom,' this competition aims to provide a platform for talented photographers to showcase their creativity and skills in a competitive environment. Registration Details Participants need to complete their registration by 6:00 PM on August 15, 2024, using a designated Google form. A registration fee of ₹100 applies. It's crucial to submit entries on time, as late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances. Submission Guidelines Photographers must submit their entries in both RAW and JPEG formats, with a maximum file size of 100 MB.
