New Delhi -   India etched its name in sports history by winning the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup, held from January 13 to 19, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Arena, New Delhi. In a commanding display of skill, India defeated Nepal in the finals with a remarkable score of 78-40. Among the standout performers were Monica Bhati and Nirmala Bhati, students of Chandigarh University, whose contributions were instrumental in the team’s golden success.  Adding to the glory, Monica Bhati was crowned the Best Defender of the Tournament, recognizing her unmatched defensive prowess throughout the championship. Paris, France - Chandigarh University's Palak Kohli has kicked off her second Paralympic campaign with a strong start, securing a comprehensive victory in her opening match. Competing in the SL4 Group C of women's singles para-badminton, Palak defeated France's Milenna Surreau with a commanding score of 21-12, 21-14, marking her first victory in the group stage. Palak's success is part of a broader achievement for Indian para-shuttlers, as Thulasimathi Murugesan, Manisha Ramdass, and Nithya Sre also emerged victorious in their respective group-stage matches, adding to the country's promising start in the Paralympics. However, in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 Group A match, India's duo of Suhas Yathiraj and Palak Kohli faced a challenging encounter, losing the first game 15-21 to France's Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel. Despite the setback, Palak's impressive performance in the singles match has set a positive tone for the rest of her campaign.

Chandigarh University recently celebrated the achievements of two international students from the Department of Electrical Engineering , Mehedi Hasan and Md. Atiquen Nobi, both from Bangladesh. The students participated in the "International Online Internship Program and Project Competition," organized by Energy Mentors (USA) in collaboration with IIT Ropar. Their project, titled "Hydrogen Fuel Cell-Based Drones as Intercity Cargo Transporter," secured the Winner position in the competition, earning them a cash prize of $150. The project showcased their technical skills and innovative approach to solving modern challenges. This accomplishment reflects the high standard of education and support provided by Chandigarh University, which fosters an environment where students from diverse backgrounds can collaborate and excel.

Paris (July 29, 2024)  - In a tightly contested final of the Men's 10m Air Rifle event at the Paris Olympics 2024, Arjun Babuta finished just shy of a podium position. Despite a commendable performance throughout the competition, Babuta narrowly missed out on a medal, ultimately placing 4th.
