In men MDU Rohtak wins North Zone Inter University Chess Tournament: University of Delhi wins in the Women Category Team of MDU Rohtak lifted the overall trophy of AIU North Zone Inter University Chess Tournament in the men’s category which concluded at Chandigarh University Gharuan while team from University of Delhi came second in the tournament. After finishing of round 7, teams of MDU Rohtak, University of Delhi, PEC University Chandigarh and CCS Merrut which lead the final scoreboard have qualified from North Zone for the All India Inter-University Chess Championship which will be played later during the year. In the women’s Category University of Delhi lifted the North Zone Inter University Chess Tournament while Punjab University came close second.  The other teams who have qualified for the All India Chess Tournament in the women’s category are Punjabi University Patiala and Lucknow University.
