Punjab Government honors sports achievers of Chandigarh University Chandigarh University announces Dhyan Chand Sports Scholarship worth 2 crores for players In a glittering ceremony, Punjab Government honored sports achievers and medal winners of Chandigarh University on the occasion of National Sports Day. More than 180 medal winners who have represented India at International Championships and national players who have represented Punjab and University in their respective sports were honored by the Sports Minister Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi along with Additional Chief Secretary, Sanjay Kumar (IAS). The university players have won 86 National and International medals in Boxing, Wrestling, Kick Boxing, Weight-Lifting, Power-lifting, Wu-Shu, Taekwondo, Roll Ball, American Football and Gatka Championships.
