Coronavirus in India: Chandigarh University distributing food to poor & needy in nearby villages   Amid 21 days lockdown announced in India, the daily wagers working in factories and construction labour are facing heat as they are facing challenges to earn and find food for themselves and their families. Rising up to the situation and with the spirit of gesture in times of crisis, Chandigarh University Gharuan is distributing cooked meals two times a day to poor & needy in the 6 neighbourhood villages Gharuan, Batta, Mankheri, Mamupur, Roorkee Pukta and Madauli. The distribution drive started from the first day of the lockdown and will be continued throughout the 21 days period. The meals are cooked in University Mess and then transported to the different locations using the institution’s transportation. Chandigarh University joins hand with Indian Red Cross to offer First Aid Training Program    Target to impart training to 1000 students More than 1.5 lacs every year are at risk in India due to lack of training and skills in providing First Aid to the needy persons and half of them die to non-availability of any first aid treatment on time. Taking the mission to save precious lives, Chandigarh University has joined hands with Indian Red Cross to offer First Training Program to university students. Chandigarh University has kept a target to train more than 1000 student volunteers in the first year of the training program itself. CU students from Indonesia celebrate 74th Indonesia Independence Day  Chandigarh University students of Indonesia origin celebrated their 74th Independence Day at the university campus by presenting a Musical & Dance performance. Dressed up in their traditional attire, more than 100 Indonesian students presented a colorful tableau of their rich heritage and culture. It was in the year 1945, Indonesia got independence from the occupation of Dutch and Japan with great struggle and sacrifice.  On the occasion, the students from Indonesia presented their traditional folk dance Roti-Manis which means sweet bread and is performed by the farmer's community during the reaping season. Once again Team Chandigarh University makes India proud at Dance World Cup 2019 Lifts 1st runners-up trophy beating teams from 19 countries  Team from Chandigarh University representing India has once again made country proud by winning the 1st Runners-up trophy at the 12th Edition of the Dance World Cup 2019. In 2018, the university team had lifted the Dance World Cup Trophy for the country. With more than 323 teams from all across the world participated in the Dance World Cup 2019 which was hosted by International Dance Council (CID) at Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Asian Paints selects 7 Mechanical Diploma Engineering students from Chandigarh Polytechnic College India’s top and Asia’s third largest paint company, Asian Paints has selected 7 Diploma Engineering students of Mechanical branch from Chandigarh Polytechnic College, Gharuan during a campus placement drive.
