Blood Donation Camp organized at Chandigarh University

  Blood Donation Camp organized at Chandigarh University; 417 blood units collected University Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Chandigarh University Gharuan, organized a Blood Donation Camp in November, wherein as many as 417 blood units were collected. Four blood banks participated in the camp, including PGI Chandigarh, Patiala Hospital, Mohali Hospital, and one hospital from Ludhiana, and ensured a careful and safe collection of blood units.  The inauguration ceremony of the blood donation camp was presided over by Dr. R M Bhagat, Sr. Executive Director of Science Cluster Chandigarh University; and Advocate Harpreet Sandhu, Chairman Punjab Infotech.

75 Years of India's Contribution in the Semiconductor Industry

  Industrial Conclave organized at CU to celebrate 75 Years of India's Contribution in the Semiconductor Industry Considering the rising demand for semiconductors, University Institute of Engineering, Chandigarh University Gharuan, organized an 'Industrial Conclave' in association with IEEE India Council with the theme "75 Years of India's Contribution in Semiconductor Industry and Way Forward". Dr. John Jose (Vice Chair IEEE India Council & Associate Professor IIT Guwahati) was the moderator for the panel discussion. Mr. Sumit Goswami (Senior Director of Engineering & EDA Qualcomm), Mr. Arun Singh (Co-founder, PI Semiconductor), Mr. Deep Sehgal (Group Head, SCL), Mr. Rejin John (CEO, Sizilium Circuits), and Ms. Mithula Madiraju (Senior Engineer, IBM) also attended this magnificent Industrial Conclave.

National Moot Court Competition 2022 at Chandigarh University

  Panjabi University Patiala won ‘Vidhigya- National Moot Court Competition 2022’ at Chandigarh University Chandigarh University Gharuan, hosted ‘Vidhigya 2022’, the National Moot Court Competition, under its Law school University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS). The three-day event has participants from 36 universities from 20 states and Union Territories of India, who presented positive and negative consequences ensuing the ‘Right to be Forgotten (Cyber Law)’ within the ambit of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.  Panjabi University, Patiala won the first prize and Punjab University Chandigarh stood as the runners-up. Justice Sandeep Moudgil, Judge Haryana and Punjab High Court, was the chief guest for the occasion, while Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Rattan, Vice Chancellor Dr. Anand Aggarwal, and Prof. (Dr.) OP Midha, Director UILS Chandigarh University were the other eminent guests.  

FAP National Award 2022 at Chandigarh University

  443 schools and 348 principals honoured with FAP National Award 2022 at Chandigarh University Chandigarh University, Gharuan hosted the 2 nd FAP National Awards 2022, a two-day event in October. A total of 230 awards were given in the Best School National Award Category, while 135 principals were honoured in the best Principal Award Category on the first day of the FAP National Awards 2022.  On the 2 nd day, the award was given to 213 private schools in 9 categories and 63 principals in 3 categories. Governor Punjab and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated FAP National Awards 2022 on first day, while Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Som Prakash presided over the closing ceremony on the second day. Kultar Singh Sandhwa, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha; Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor Chandigarh University ; and Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President FAP were among the other dignitaries who attended the two-day event.
