GoI selects CU as GATI Charter Institution to promote Gender Equality in Science & Technology

Chandigarh University becomes the only private University of India to become Charter Institution under GATI pilot project launched by DST Department of Science & Technology (DST) under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India (GOI) has selected Chandigarh University as GATI Charter Institution (Gender Advancement for Transforming Institutions) for the promotion of gender equality in the field of Science & Technology. A total of 30 Universities and Institutions have been selected by DST for the GATI pilot project and Chandigarh University is the only private sector university of India to be selected by the GOI. Chandigarh University launches North India's First Satellite Designing Program 'CUSAT'

Chandigarh University launches COVID CARE Toll-Free Helpline for the benefit of students and COVID patients

CU COVID CARE helpline to offer psychological and telemedicine counselling facility Taking institutional social responsibility to the next level, Chandigarh University today launched COVID CARE toll free helpline for the benefit of public and those affected from COVID-19. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University and Dr. R.S.Bawa, Pro-Chancellor launched the dedicated 1800-203-0019 toll free COVID Care helpline facility which will offer psychological and telemedicine counselling support to the COVID-19 patients. A team of experts comprising of medical fraternity and psychiatrists would be available through the CU COVID CARE helpline which will offer counselling and medical support to the COVID-19 affected patients. Chandigarh University Launches Satellite Designing Programme 'CUSAT'

Chandigarh University on May 14 launched the Student Satellite Designing and Training program ‘CUSAT’ for students in the field of Aerospace Engineering. The virtual inauguration session of CUSAT was attended by distinguished scientists and professionals of the field, including Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Dr YS Rajan, former ISRO Director RM Vasagam, and Dr Mylswamy Annadurai, Program Director of Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan, also known as the Moon Man of India. Chandigarh University said it has planned to design a multipurpose nano-satellite in 10-12 months which will be launched by the ISRO. University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu said Rs 1 crore will be spent for designing the satellite for which the training of students has already begun. “The establishment of a ground control station for the satellite project is already underway and we are sure to design and launch our own multipurpose satellite within a time frame of 10-12 months.” The training program ...

Chandigarh University Gharuan establishes 100 bed Covid Care facility at its Campus; Can be scaled-up to 2000 beds within a week Continuing its efforts to help Covid 19 affected patients during the 2nd wave of Coronavirus, Chandigarh University has once again increased its efforts by setting up 100 bed Covid Care Centre and isolation facility in association with district administration Mohali. Established under its CU-Aid Initiative at its campus in Gharuan, Chandigarh University has prepared CU-Isolation complexes with each complex comprising of a 100-bed quarantine facility, 100 Bed Medical Centre, OPD for patients , protection kits and other medical facilities.
