  Blood Donation Camp organized at Chandigarh University; 417 blood units collected University Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Chandigarh University Gharuan, organized a Blood Donation Camp in November, wherein as many as 417 blood units were collected. Four blood banks participated in the camp, including PGI Chandigarh, Patiala Hospital, Mohali Hospital, and one hospital from Ludhiana, and ensured a careful and safe collection of blood units.  The inauguration ceremony of the blood donation camp was presided over by Dr. R M Bhagat, Sr. Executive Director of Science Cluster Chandigarh University; and Advocate Harpreet Sandhu, Chairman Punjab Infotech.

  Industrial Conclave organized at CU to celebrate 75 Years of India's Contribution in the Semiconductor Industry Considering the rising demand for semiconductors, University Institute of Engineering, Chandigarh University Gharuan, organized an 'Industrial Conclave' in association with IEEE India Council with the theme "75 Years of India's Contribution in Semiconductor Industry and Way Forward". Dr. John Jose (Vice Chair IEEE India Council & Associate Professor IIT Guwahati) was the moderator for the panel discussion. Mr. Sumit Goswami (Senior Director of Engineering & EDA Qualcomm), Mr. Arun Singh (Co-founder, PI Semiconductor), Mr. Deep Sehgal (Group Head, SCL), Mr. Rejin John (CEO, Sizilium Circuits), and Ms. Mithula Madiraju (Senior Engineer, IBM) also attended this magnificent Industrial Conclave.

  Panjabi University Patiala won ‘Vidhigya- National Moot Court Competition 2022’ at Chandigarh University Chandigarh University Gharuan, hosted ‘Vidhigya 2022’, the National Moot Court Competition, under its Law school University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS). The three-day event has participants from 36 universities from 20 states and Union Territories of India, who presented positive and negative consequences ensuing the ‘Right to be Forgotten (Cyber Law)’ within the ambit of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.  Panjabi University, Patiala won the first prize and Punjab University Chandigarh stood as the runners-up. Justice Sandeep Moudgil, Judge Haryana and Punjab High Court, was the chief guest for the occasion, while Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Rattan, Vice Chancellor Dr. Anand Aggarwal, and Prof. (Dr.) OP Midha, Director UILS Chandigarh University were the other eminent guests.  

  443 schools and 348 principals honoured with FAP National Award 2022 at Chandigarh University Chandigarh University, Gharuan hosted the 2 nd FAP National Awards 2022, a two-day event in October. A total of 230 awards were given in the Best School National Award Category, while 135 principals were honoured in the best Principal Award Category on the first day of the FAP National Awards 2022.  On the 2 nd day, the award was given to 213 private schools in 9 categories and 63 principals in 3 categories. Governor Punjab and UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated FAP National Awards 2022 on first day, while Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Som Prakash presided over the closing ceremony on the second day. Kultar Singh Sandhwa, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha; Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor Chandigarh University ; and Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President FAP were among the other dignitaries who attended the two-day event. 

  With 185 th rank, Chandigarh University becomes the youngest university to feature in the top 200 QS Asia Universities Rankings 2023   CU ranked 2nd amongst the top Private Universities of India   Chandigarh University jumps 90 positions in QS Asia Universities Ranking 2023; features amongst the top 200 Asian Universities    The prestigious global research agency QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) in the field of Higher Education today announced the QS Asia Universities Ranking 2023. Chandigarh University Gharuan has secured 185 th rank in Asia, 14 th in India and 2 nd amongst the private universities of India. This has made Chandigarh University, Gharuan, a university of Asia to feature in top 200 universities in the QS Asia Universities of Asia and the University, which had a quantum jump of 90 positions in comparison to the QS Asia Rankings, 2022.   Chandigarh University students, faculty celebrate Diwali on campus   Chandigarh University Celebrated Diwali the Festival of Lights   Likewise every year, the whole Chandigarh University celebrated Diwali to acknowledge win of good over evil. For this various departments performed Lakshmi Puja and congratulated each other for better future and luck. Moreover, students, faculty and staff members took a pledge for Mother Nature to celebrating Green Diwali and say no to crackers. Students through video posting gave a message to celebrate silent Diwali in context to noise pollution. The University distributed gift items among children living in slum areas for putting smile upon people living harsh conditions.

  Supporting cultural diversification, Nepal's 'Tihar' festival celebrated at Chandigarh University     Chandigarh University celebrated the festival of people of Nepal named “Tihar” for supporting cultural diversification from across the globe living in the campus. The university celebrated this five day long festival of lights known as Tihar which created a huge joy among the students. This festival is celebrated among Nepalese culture to mark end of the harvest season and honors Yama the God of death. Students in campus rose their National Nepalese flag and sang National Anthem.
