CU Campus - In a landmark event celebrating diversity and artistic expression, Chandigarh University recently hosted the 18th All India Cultural Festival for the Deaf. Organized in collaboration with MNS Skills India, this three-day festival showcased the vibrant culture of the Deaf community through a series of captivating performances.
The event brought together 175 participants from 15 states, including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Assam. The participants demonstrated their extraordinary talents in a variety of competitions, such as dance, drama, and mime, creating a mosaic of artistry that transcended linguistic and auditory barriers.From the intricate movements of traditional dances to the deeply emotive storytelling of mime and drama, each performance underscored the richness of the Deaf community’s culture and the beauty of sign language as a powerful medium of communication.
The festival culminated in a grand finale, featuring a cultural showcase by the winning teams, followed by an awards ceremony that honored the dedication, creativity, and spirit of all participants.This event reflected Chandigarh University’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, promoting cultural exchange, and celebrating the power of the arts in building bridges of understanding.
