Chandigarh University’s Annual Tech Festival, ‘Tech–Invent-2022’ launched

Country’s youth immensely talented, India has chance to lead world by 2030: Ar Habeeb Khan

CoA President lays foundation for Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge systems

MOHALI: Our youth are immensely talented, especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering and management, and they will give India the golden opportunity to lead the world by 2030, establishing this great nation as Vishvaguru, said Ar Habeeb Khan, President, Council of Architecture (CoA), Govt of India, as he launched the ‘Tech–Invent-2022’, Chandigarh University’s annual and Asia’s largest Technical Festival.

Khan, who also laid the foundation for Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge systems at the Gharuan campus of the varsity, asserted that the quality and excellence are prerequisite to this great dream, and must be stressed upon by all the educational institutions across the country.

Bringing together minds from engineering, sciences, management, literature and humanities with the motto of promoting innovation in all spheres of life, Chandigarh University’s ‘Tech-Invent-2022’ has been aligned with the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ to commemorate the 75 years of India's independence, and will culminate in the month of September. The Festival will feature various competitions, workshops, talk series, summits, exhibitions, with prizes worth Rs 30 Lakh on the offer, even as the focus will remain on strengthening the five pillars of economy, infrastructure, system, vibrant demography and demand.

Firefly Drone Show, Cyber Security Summit, Hack4 Mankind, Speed Drone Competition, UAV exhibition, Ad-making, Photography and Cookery competitions, besides e-sports, coding, and mechanical vehicles will be the main attractions for the festival.

In his address to the students and faculty after launching the event, Khan asserted that the future will be defined by the cooperation among professionals and countries, but it will be youth and the students, who will decide the direction their country takes.

“Indian students have immense talent, which essentially means that our future is in safe hands. By 2030, there will be a shortage of talent as well as a fall in the quality of talent in two-fifth of the world, but India is projected to grow on both parameters. This unique preposition will put India at an advantage. The supremacy of our youth, especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering and management, will give India the golden opportunity to lead the world by 2030. This will realise the dream of our Prime Minister to establish this country as a Vishvaguru,” said Khan.

"To do that, we need quality and excellence, without which this dream will remain only a dream. All the educational institutions across the country must stress upon maintaining quality and excellence,” he added.

Expressing his happiness over the facilities and policies of the University, Khan hoped that this Technical Festival will provide the young students an opportunity to find, acknowledge and gain on their talent and knowledge.

Later, Khan also laid the foundation for Centre of Excellence in Indian Knowledge Systems at Chandigarh University. This inter-disciplinary Centre for Excellence has been set up with a process of documentation, research, synthesis, education and outreach about Indian Knowledge Systems of North-West India focusing on its integration with contemporary development and education systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University, Dr R S Bawa informed that Tech Invent 2022 gives the students a chance to imagine, innovate and initiate, besides to meet the leaders in technology for immersive learning and to build a professional network.
