Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh to inaugurate Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science & Technology at Chandigarh University, Gharuan MOHALI: Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh at Chandigarh University will inaugurate the Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science & Technology (KCCRSST) on Monday, the 3rd of January, 2022. Established with the objective of training students in space science and satellite development, this state of the art space centre would be the earth station for the Chandigarh University's Student Satellite (CUSAT), an in-house developed nano-satellite being designed by the students of Chandigarh University, besides other important projects. 1552 students awarded degrees at Chandigarh University’s Annual Convocation-2021 30 meritorious students get Gold medals, 28 awarded PhD degrees   MOHALI: The annual convocation of Chandigarh University was held at its Gharuan campus on Wednesday, during which 1552 students from the Liberal Arts, Sciences and University Institute of Teacher Training and Research departments were awarded degrees, including PhDs, Masters and Bachelors, for the academic year 2020-21. As many as 30 meritorious students were awarded gold medals, including 18 graduate and 12 postgraduate students while 28 students were awarded PhD degrees in the ceremony, in which In-charge, External Affairs Department, Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale and eminent theatre director, Padma Shri Dr Mr. Neelam Mansingh Chaudhary participated as the Chief Guests and presented degrees to the students. Chandigarh University's 'CU-SAT' will be amongst the 75 student-made satellites to be launched during 75th Independence Day

India will launch 75 student-made satellites as a part of 75th Independence Day celebrations next year. This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent UNGA speech. CU-SAT satellite, being designed and developed by the students of Chandigarh University, would be part the ambitious project and would be one of the 75 student-made satellites which would be launched in space on the eve of 75th Independence Day in 2022.
