National Youth Summit

  Chandigarh University organizes 9 th National Youth Summit ‘Evoke-2023’ to mark 160 th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Chandigarh University Gharuan organized National Youth Summit 'Evoke-2023' on the occasion of National Youth Day, which marks the 160 th birth anniversary of philosopher and social reformer Swami Vivekananda. During the panel discussion, distinguished personalities from different fields such as politics, media, entertainment, and sports, shared their views and opinions on the topic ‘Challenges and Prospects for Indian Youth in Amrit Kal’. Khelo India Women's Senior National Wushu League 2023

Chandigarh University hosts Khelo India Women's Senior National Wushu League 2023 Chandigarh University Gharuan hosted Khelo India Women's Senior National Wushu League 2022-23, organized by Wushu Association of India from 25 to 27 January. The three-day championship organized Sanda and Taolu events, which saw the participation of 216 women athletes from 28 states and 9 Union Territories of India along with paramilitary forces. All India Police (AIP) emerged as the winner of Sanda Wushu category with 12 points winning two Gold and two Bronze medals. Service Selection Board (SSB) with 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze (12 points) and Uttar Pradesh with 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals (10 points) were declared First and Second First Runners Up, respectively. Armed Forces Flag Day

  Chandigarh University donates Rs. 1.16 Lakh on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day Chandigarh University organized an event on 26 th  December, 2022 for celebrating the Armed Forces Flag Day or the Flag Day of India under the Department of Student Welfare and NSS Division to honour sacrifices of armed forces and raise donations for the welfare of the servicemen, ex-servicemen, and their families. Chandigarh University celebrates National Voters Day

  Chandigarh University celebrates National Voters Day The Department of Student Welfare and NSS Division of Chandigarh University celebrated the 12 th  National Voters Day on 25 th  January 2023 at its main campus. The chief guest of the event was Ravinder Singh, SDM Kharar. The celebration involved various activities and awareness programs were organized during the event as per the instructions issued by the Government of India. NSS Volunteers actively participated in events like Poster Making Competition, Debate Competition and Awareness Rally. Master trainer Gurmeet Singh from Kharar constituency explained the Registration Process of Voting and EVM to the young Voters of the country. At the end Chief Guest Flagged of the Voting Awareness Rally and the students with Placards made the round of complete university to aware the students for the importance of Voting.

Chandigarh University celebrates 74th Republic Day

  Chandigarh University celebrates 74 th  Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism Dr. R S Bawa, Pro-Chancellor Chandigarh University, unfurled the flag on the occasion of 74th Republic Day celebration at the campus. March past parade comprising of NCC Cadets and sports students of Chandigarh University gave salute to the National Flag. The Department of Culture presented a colourful program showcasing the rich diversity of our nation. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Bawa gave honours to achiever students who brought laurels to the university in the field of academics and sports.  While delivering his address to the students, Dr. Bawa said, “It is the youth of any nation who can contribute big time towards its development and progress. It is important therefore, for today’s youth to understand their responsibilities and role as the nation is moving in the era of Amrit Kaal.”

  Chandigarh University remembers  Mahatma Gandhi on his 75 th  Death Anniversary Chandigarh University celebrated Martyrs' Day on 30 th  January 2023, organized by the Department of Student Welfare and NSS Division of the university. Martyrs' Day in India is celebrated every year on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi to pay tribute to his sacrifices for the nation and honor his legacy. Event Wg. Cdr (Dr.) J S Minhas  Additional Director- SWSC   and Dr. Pardeep Kumar Program Officer NSS Unit, Chandigarh University, were the eminent guests of the event. During the event, the volunteers and students of the university showcased several events, including patriotic songs, choreography and group performance. A video on the Life History of Mahatma Gandhi Father of the nation was also showcased to the students. The event concluded with a two-minute silence to commemorate the death of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
